Meet Our Dental Staff

Laurie RDH, Hygiene Coordinator

Laurie graduated from West Virginia University in 1995, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. Her many years of practice have been rewarding and fulfilling. She joined Dr. Burns’ practice in 1995, the year of its existence. The care of her patients is of the utmost importance to her and is enhanced by the compassion and gentleness that she expresses.

Outside of the office, she thoroughly enjoys her active lifestyle with her husband, Mike, and their four grown kids. However, now, her 2 grandsons are also a big part of her life.

Megan RDH

Megan graduated from Virginia Western Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene in May of 2014.  Her favorite part of being a dental hygienist is meeting new people and having a relationship with all of her patients.

When Megan is not in the scrubs and cleaning teeth, she is at home spending time with her family and friends. Megan was born and raised in Page County and still resides there with her husband. Her husband and she were married in July of 2010 and have two fur children, Turbo and Sally. Turbo and Sally are boxers and they are wild, full of energy, and completely mommy’s babies. Sorry, daddy!

Megan looks forward to seeing you in our dental office. She will do her best to make you comfortable and make your dental visit a positive experience. She will always greet you with a smile on her face and a warm heart because every patient is very special to her.

Ginger CDA, DA II, and Clinical Coordinator

Ginger has been a dental assistant since 1995. In 2017, she graduated from Germanna College, receiving her Expanded Function Dental Assistant License and maintains her certification in CPR. She has a true passion for patient care and great expertise in sterilization to ensure her patient’s utmost safety. She shares her knowledge and kindness with each person passing through the office, ensuring that they leave the office more knowledgeable than when they sat down. Ginger is a caring soul and has a genuine love of dentistry and gives all that she has to each and every patient.

At home, Ginger enjoys spending time with friends and family. She loves being outdoors on the river or at the lake kayaking and tubing.

Sara CDA, DA II, and Lab Coordinator

In 2001, Sara completed the dental assisting program at Massanutten Technical Center and has loved being an assistant ever since. Sara is a board certified dental assistant, in 2017 she graduated from Germanna Community College as a licensed expanded function dental assistant.  In 2020, she completed her dental anesthesia assistant certification through the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS)

Sara enjoys getting to know her patients and helping them to feel at ease in the dental chair. Sara enjoys being a part of a team that is continually learning and striving for excellence.

Outside the office, Sara loves spending time with her husband Jason, son, Gage, and daughter, Cambrie. She also enjoys reading and camping as well as just enjoying life with her family and friends

Teri, Financial, Insurance & Treatment Coordinator

Teri is our Financial, Insurance, and Treatment Coordinator. Teri graduated with her Associate’s Degree in Accounting and Data Processing in1988. She also earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification in1995. She enjoys working with Dr. Burns and our team which allows her to combine her love of patient care and her desire to help our patients with their treatment and financial options while maximizing their insurance benefits.

At home, she enjoys spending time with her daughter Megan, her family, reading, and her sweet cats.

Sara, Patient Coordinator

Sara is our Patient Coordinator for Dr. Whitney and has been with our practice since 2020. Sara loves taking care of our patients and her focus is making sure each patient has a fulfilling experience. She has an amazing talent for taking pictures, and she shares our office’s fun happenings on social media pages including Facebook and Instagram, so be sure to follow us!

Sara loves spending time with her husband Adam, and her four children, Matthew, William, Kaitlyn, and Avery. Some of her favorite things are crafting, baking, painting, taking pictures, and going to her kid’s sporting events.

Katie, Clinical Assistant

Katie is our Clinical Assistant to Dr. Whitney for oral surgery and cosmetic procedures. Katie joined our dental team in 2018 with a mission to make people smile and help them feel better about themselves. She graduated from the Page County Technical Center in 2007, becoming a Licensed Cosmetologist. In 2014, she completed the Massanutten Technical Center’s Dental Assisting Program, becoming a Certified Dental Assistant. She also completed her Certification in Dental Radiation Health and Safety at LFCC. She achieved her certificate as a Certified Anesthesia Assistant in 2017. Katie offers our patients clinical care during dental and oral surgery procedures.

Katie has a happy and energetic personality and loves spending time with her family, her husband Joel, their fun-loving daughter, Willow, and their friends.

Teresa, Patient Coordinator

Teresa is our Patient Coordinator for Dr. Burn’s patients. She loves to share the confidence and trust she has in Dr. Burns and our team. She appreciates our doctors’ and team’s genuine kindness toward others and their attentive care for each patient. Teresa has a compassionate personality and a genuine desire to care for others, ensuring they have an awesome experience.

Teresa began working with our dental team in 2004 and enjoys every day of being a part of such an amazing group, #THE BEST TEAM EVER! Teresa is a VA Licensed Cosmetologist and VA Licensed Master Aesthetician and studied Business Management and Accounting at LFCC. She was a certified volunteer, for over 10 years, with the American Cancer Society’s “Look Good Feel Better” program and is a supporter of Autism Awareness.

At home, Teresa and her husband David enjoy making wood and metal creations, working within their church, and traveling with their son Zach. She loves the joy of being a mom, being “Ome” to their “honorary grandchildren”, and enjoys spending time with family and friends, painting art, hiking, and especially traveling on adventures!
